Venue: The Commodore Ballroom
City: Vancouver, BC, Canada
Highlight: Joel Madden thanking their sponsor Journey’s for making this tour possible, and having a lot of “sole/soul”
Reviewed By: Desiree Mark

I remember sitting in class back in high school, a long long long long long long long long time ago, (ok maybe I’m exaggerating slightly) zoning out as the teacher rambled on about who knows what, watching my girlfriend sitting next to me drawing that weird “S” thing all over her binder, and adding yet another heart to the picture of Good Charlotte guitarist Billy Martin taped to the cover. Kayla Fofonoff, if you’re reading this, I’m talking about you!

It’s been ten years since “Miserable At Best” left us all heart broken for the first time, and in true emo fashion, an anniversary celebration to mourn was necessary. We took out our eyeliner, donned on our best band tees and hit the road.  Downtown Disney served as a good home for the House of Blues for many years, but as it grew it had to be relocated. HOB is now found at the Anaheim Gardenwalk. Continue reading

Everyone took a break from playing Pokemon Go to come check out the Back To Basics Tour as it ventured up north into Canada-land.

After choosing to relocate the show from the original venue to a smaller more intimate location, the Biltmore Cabaret was decided upon. The dark and cozy venue, despite it’s size and unassuming nature has played host to some of the biggest talent to come through Vancouver, and tonight was no different, the Biltmore was about to explode with some of the genre’s heaviest hitters.

From The Vault: Vans Warped Tour 2015

It’s A Zoo Out There!

Date: August 9, 2015
Venue: White River Amphitheatre
City: Auburn, WA
Highlight: Playing the largest game of beer pong ever during Attila’s set…without beer, while listening to Fronz make sexual innuendos about playing with balls.
Reviewed By: Desiree Mark

The posters for this years Van’s Warped Tour are covered in a collection of animals about to bust out of a zoo, which we find fitting, because sometimes a day at Warped Tour can actually feel a lot like a day at the zoo. Think about it, you walk around checking out the “exhibits”, but instead of animals, your watching musicians, and instead of being in cages their on stages. Andddd…have you ever tried to get a hold of a bottle of water at Warped later in the day? I’d imagine being a wildebeest fighting for a spot at the local watering hole is on par as difficult.

Over an hour drive in crazy California traffic, plus an hour in the venue parking lot squinting out the car window trying to see if that’s really Zac out there taking a call on his cell phone, plus another hour waiting for the box office to open (only to be separated into a VIP line and handed your ticket), plus thirty minutes of standing behind impatient girls before the guys in Man Overboard start to personally sing the John Cena theme song to you as you walk up for the momentous meet and greet picture moment (I was wearing a John Cena Sweater).

The night began with a short entrance que off Main Street in the often sketchy downtown east side. A quiet… very misleading crowd gathered, for what was about to be a wild and highly energized night at the Imperial.

With last year’s release of their eighth studio album, I Am Alive In Everything I Touch, Silverstein hit the road for a cross Canada/US tour in support of the new album. Bringing along with them: Being As An Ocean, Emarosa, Cardinals Pride (who did not attend the Vancouver date) Youth Decay, and Rarity.
